I have been struggling with prayer lately. I don’t feel very good at it, when really, how can you be bad at it! Any time spent talking (praying) with God is worthwhile because He answers even our most feeble prayers if they fall in line with His will. Even so, I feel like my prayers don’t make sense and are not beautiful and flowery like the prayers of people who have this gift. Well today I have been shown some insights into prayer.* Thank you Jesus!

Matthew 6:6 – “go into your inner room, shut your door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.” Verse 7 continues to say do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard… your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”
Jesus then goes on to tell us how to pray, verse 9-13,
“Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed by Your name.Your kingdom come,
Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation , but deliver us from the evil one.
I love this! In this one succinct prayer our Father shows us how to pray for everything we will ever need; His return, His will in all things, food for the day, forgiveness for our errors and help for us to forgive others. He prays for us to be strong against the temptations of the evil one – a constant battle indeed!
This doesn’t mean we can’t pray for all the other stuff but God already knows all that you need and as our Sovereign Lord we can rest in the truth that He will provide all. He is with us in every moment of every day, we just have to listen and do.
Thank you Father for this important message for me today!
