I was at a meeting the other day, actually Bible study, and we had a question posed to us, “What is it that people should know about Jesus?” I commented that everyone should know that Jesus loves us unconditionally!
There was push back! You can’t tell people that because they would just do whatever they wanted! You can’t tell people that because they won’t reach out to Jesus, because they will think that they don’t have to believe since he loves us unconditionally already!
Jesus does love us unconditionally. He wants us to know Him, to not fear Him, to not fear the rules.
Ahh, but you say the Bible teaches us that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: Pr 1:7 and “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Pr 9:10 If you look up the meaning of “fear of the Lord” it is not about fear as we understand it today! It is a “positive, reverential awe and deep respect for God’s holiness” (google) Very different from what we think of fear!
So back to Jesus loves us unconditionally – He does – that is the beginning from which we can accept the true teachings of Jesus, not what man has made it. Jesus had two commands for man, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.”Matt 22:37-39
When you truly think about these two commandments, those simple phrases encompass all of the commandments. Believe in no other god, make no images of another god, refrain from taking His name in vain, and remember to keep the Sabbath, a day of rest the Lord made for man! You can’t murder if you love your neighbor, you can’t commit adultery if you love your wife, you respect your parents, you won’t want to steal, covet, or bear false witness against your neighbor. Simple!

But all this means surrendering to HIM. But how can you surrender to a God if you don’t know for sure He loves you unconditionally? How can you lay aside that fear, if the truth of His complete, unjudgemental love is not understood or given? Unconditional love is where it all starts.
He loves us, is there for us in every instance, helping us to make good decisions about our life so we might live it fully and in love for God, self and others.
Don’t wait! I spent 46 years outside of that sphere of love, listening to all that the world had to offer which is hollow at best. If you want that hollowness to be gone, accept who Jesus is. https://www.gotquestions.org/
Trust and believe that Jesus does love you unconditionally!
